“After spending my career building spaces where Gen Z could lead, grow, and be heard, creating gen Z times was a natural next step. GZT is more than a brand, it's a reflection of everything I’ve learned about what this generation needs to thrive: intentional support, real connection, and a community that truly sees them.“
- Errika S. Brooks, M.S.Ed
hi, i’m errika, founder and creator of gen z times (gzt), a community brand built to amplify and empower gen z professionals. i’m also the creator of after five, a dc-based meetup series connecting gen z students, creatives, and professionals in real, meaningful ways beyond the usual “what do you do?” networking questions.
originally from rochester, ny, i now call washington, dc home. with a background in student affairs, youth partnerships, and nonprofit leadership, i’ve spent my career creating spaces where young people can thrive. my passion for personal development, improving workplace culture, and creative expression led me to launch gzt — a hub designed to help gen z navigate career challenges, build meaningful connections, and redefine success on their own terms.
when i’m not working or exploring new ideas, you’ll probably find me in a cozy corner of a coffee shop, headphones on, reading a book, or doom-scrolling tiktok. i’m a simple girl at heart who enjoys life’s little joys: a good playlist, a fresh latte, and quiet moments that spark creativity. when it’s time to unplug, i’m soaking up quality time with my dog, callie, or being the best auntie i can be.
